Our services are suitable for families referred by professionals such as social workers, CAFCASS, Solicitors, schools, or early help services.
We also welcome self-referrals from individuals.
Whether you're a parent or a professional, getting started is simple. Here's how the referral and booking process works:
Self-Referrals (Private Individuals)
Parents or caregivers who agree to consider using a child-handover service, can self-refer directly to KindSteps Handovers. Here’s what to expect:
1. Submit a Referral Application Form
Each individual parent/caregiver must complete and submit both the Personal Referral form and the Parental Agreement form to KindSteps Handovers by email.
2. Initial Review
The Service Manager will carry out a desktop risk assessment to determine initial suitability.
3. Pre-Session Consultations (Mandatory)
Each parent/caregiver will be invited to attend a separate 15-minute video consultation with the Service Manager, held virtually via Zoom or Google Meet.
4. Assessment & Decision
The Service Manager will ask a set of structured questions to better understand the family's needs and complete a full risk assessment.
5. Booking & Payment
If the service is suitable, session details will be confirmed and a secure payment link will be sent. Handovers can then be scheduled.
Referrals by Professionals
Professionals working with families (e.g. CAFCASS, social workers, solicitors, schools) are welcome to refer parents or caregivers, who agree to consider using a child-handover service.
1. Submit a Referral Application form
Complete the Professional Referral form and send it by email to KindSteps Handovers.
2. Initial Review
The Service Manager will carry out a desktop risk assessment upon receipt of the referral.
3. Pre-Session Consultations (Mandatory)
Each parent/caregiver will be invited to a separate 15-minute video consultation, held virtually via Zoom or Google Meet.
4. Assessment & Decision
Following the consultations, the Service Manager will make a judgement on whether the service is suitable for the family’s needs.
5. Booking & Payment
If approved, the Parental Agreement form must be completed and emailed back to KindSteps Handovers:
The family will then be offered handover session dates and a secure payment link will be sent via email.
